Our Faculty (in alphabetical Order)



William P. Adams,  Jr.MD

William P. Adams, Jr.,M.D. is an Associate Professor and Chief of Plastic Surgery at Parkland Health and Hospital Systems in the Department of Plastic Surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas.  He received his undergraduate degree from Princeton University and obtained his MD degree at Vanderbilt University Medical School. He completed his residency training in general surgery and plastic at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. Dr. Adams is an international expert on breast augmentation using breast implants, including cohesive gel implants and textured anatomic implants.  He has developed soft-tissue planning techniques for use in clinical breast implant surgery that have made breast augmentation and breast implant revision procedures safer for patients.  He  also  is active in educating plastic surgeons around the  country on the use of intra-operative local anesthetics in breast  augmentation, which   may lead to a better patient experience and a 24 hour recovery.

Eric Auclair is a plastic surgeon in Paris, France.  He trained in Paris under Daniel Marchac, MD and is the current President of the French Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery ("SOFCEP").  Dr Auclair has performed hundreds of textured anatomic implant procedures in the sub fascial position, and has covered these with fat.  He is credited with the term, "composite" Breast Augmentation - using both implants and fat.  He has written and published papers on the subject of combining implants and fat in the French literature and has lectured at national and international meetings on the subject of composite breast augmentation.
William G. Austen, Jr

William G. Austen, Jr,  MD ("Jay") is the Chief of the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School. He received his undergraduate degree at Princeton and received his MD degree from Harvard Medical School. He trained in General Surgery and Plastic Surgery at Harvard Medical School followed by a Fellowship in Craniofacial Surgery at the Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne, Australia. Dr. Austen's areas of research interest include methods of breast reconstruction, fat transplantation, cell protection, and skin rejuvenation. He has published extensively on the topic of fat transplantation and lectures on a national and international level. Dr. Austen is a member of numerous societies including the American Association of Plastic Surgeons and ASPS.


Philip Blondeel

Phillip Blondeel is an internationally leading expert on aesthetic and reconstructive breast surgery and one of the pioneers in the so-called “perforator flap” surgery. He is Professor of Plastic Surgery and vice-chairman of the department of plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University Hospital Gent, Belgium, as well as an attending plastic surgeon at Clinique La Prairie in Montreux, Switzerland.  A native of the United States of America, Dr. Blondeel received his medical degree from the Katholieke Universiteit  Leuven Medical School in Leuven, Belgium. He underwent postgraduate training in the department of plastic and reconstructive surgery, Catholic University Leuven as well as at Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany and earned his Doctor in Medical Sciences (PhD) degree at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Gent in 1998. Dr.  Blondeel is a fellow of the Collegium Chirurgicum Plasticum (Belgian Boards) and a diplomate of the European Board of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery.  He is a member of the American Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery, the European Association of Plastic Surgeons and ASPS.  He is honorary member of the South-African and Canadian Society of Plastic Surgery.  Dr. Blondeel has authored and co-authored numerous books, book chapters, peer-reviewed articles and abstracts. He currently sits on the editorial boards of the Journal of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery and the Journal of Reconstructive Microsurgery. He is international co-editor of Plastic and Reconstructive SurgeryAt the end of 2011, Prof. Blondeel led the team that performed the first face transplant in Belgium (#19 worldwide) and is the Chairman of the Vascularized Composite Tissue Allograft Program at the University Hospital Gent.

Stafford  Broumand

Dr. Stafford R. Broumand is a plastic surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.  He also holds a faculty position as an Associate Professor of Plastic Surgery at the Mount Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Broumand attended medical school at Yale University and completed general surgery and the Mount Sinai Medical Center. He trained in Plastic Surgery at the Massachusetts General Hospital/ Harvard Medical School and continued on staff there completing a fellowship in burn reconstruction. He also completed a fellowship in cosmetic and craniofacial surgery at the College des Medicines de Paris, France – Hospital Necker.    Dr. Broumand has received many acclaimed awards and honors, including, “Top Doctors: New York Metro Area” Castle Connolly Ten Year Award, from 2000 to 2010, and “Who’s Who in America”, from 2008 to 2010. He has also received the “Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare” award from 2009 to 2012, the “Who’s Who in Science and Engineering” award from 2011 to 2012, the “Who’s Who in the East” award from 2010 to 2012 and was additionally featured in the New York Magazine as the “Best Doctors” from 2006 to 2012. Along with his renowned awards, Dr. Stafford R. Broumand is an active member in the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons, the New York Regional Society of Plastic Surgery, the Plastic Surgery Educational Foundation and the Massachusetts General Hospital Surgical Society. He is also the President Elect of at the New York State Society of Plastic Surgeons.

Louis Bucky

Louis P. Bucky is a Clinical Professor of Surgery within the Division of Plastic Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and Chief of Plastic Surgery at Pennsylvania Hospital.  Dr. Bucky received his medical degree from Harvard Medical School before completing residencies in both general and plastic surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA.  He completed fellowship training in breast cancer reconstruction at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City and craniofacial surgery at Miami Children’s Hospital.  Dr. Bucky is board certified  by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.  He is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the Northeastern Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Association of Plastic Surgeons.  Dr. Bucky is past chairman of the Perspectives and Advancements of Plastic Surgery Symposium, and past president of the Northeastern Society of Plastic Surgeons. Dr. Bucky is also chairman of the Allergan Breast Aesthetics Executive Council, an elite advisory board of ten nationally recognized leaders in cosmetic and reconstructive breast surgery. Dr. Bucky has co-authored over 100 publications and abstracts in premier scientific journals. His clinical research work has been featured on Good Morning America, CNN, Fox News, CBS News, Plastic Surgery News, Family Circle, Redbook, and MAMM Magazine.  For 13 consecutive years, he has been named Plastic Surgery’s “Top Doc” in Philadelphia Magazine and the prestigious Castle Connolly publication, a resource for “America’s Top Doctors” for cosmetic and reconstructive surgery.


Daniel Del Vecchio

Dr. Daniel Del Vecchio holds a B.A. degree summa cum laude from Yale University, an M.D. from Harvard Medical School, and completed his residency in General Surgery and Plastic Surgery at Harvard’s Massachusetts General Hospital.  After that he completed a fellowship in craniofacial surgery at the University of Pennsylvania.  In 1998, Dr Del Vecchio received an MBA at Columbia Business School, focusing on corporate finance.  Since 1998, he has worked as a consultant at Ferrer Freeman and Company (“FFC”), a private investment firm focusing on healthcare.  Dr. Del Vecchio specializes in medical device technology.   Dr. Del Vecchio is on the Associate Staff at Harvard’s Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.  His areas of research interest include basic science and clinical applications of fat transplantation to the breast and buttocks.

Steven Cohen

Dr. Steven Cohen received his Plastic Surgical training at the University of Pennsylvania and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He went on to complete a fellowship in Craniofacial and Facial Plastic Surgery at UCLA.  Dr. Cohen is involved in the Plastic Surgical Training program at the University of California, San Diego, where he serves as Clinical Professor and helps direct the Rady Children’s Hospital and UCSD Fresh Start Craniofacial Fellowship.  Dr. Steven Cohen has written over 150 articles for the medical literature and served on the editorial board of Plastic Reconstructive Surgery, the Annals of Plastic Surgery, and the Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Journal. He was formerly on the executive boards of the American Society of Craniofacial Surgery, the American Society of Maxillofacial Surgeons and the American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association.

Sampaio Goes, MD

Sampaio Góes, MD is an international authority on both reconstructive and cosmetic breast surgery. An oncologist, plastic surgeon, and breast specialist, Dr Góes is founder and scientific director of the Brazilian Institute for Cancer Control in São Paulo, Brazil. Dr Góes received advanced training in the United States and Europe. He has won many awards and honors in both Brazil and the United States—most recently, the Raymond Vilain Award of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. In addition to his active memberships in numerous national and international medical organizations, Dr Góes serves on the board of the Albert Einstein Israeli Hospital in São Paulo and heads the Communications Committee of the International Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. To his credit are more than 100 peer-reviewed journal articles and textbook chapters on breast surgery, with a focus on immediate reconstruction. He is a frequent presenter at international medical meetings.

Dennis Hammond

Dr. Dennis Hammond completed undergraduate and medical school training at the University of Michigan from 1977 to 1985. He completed his residency in General Surgery and Plastic Surgery in June of 1990 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He then completed an additional one year post-graduate fellowship in aesthetic and reconstructive breast surgery in Nashville, Tennessee followed by an additional one year fellowship in microsurgery and hand surgery in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Dr. Hammond has been in practice since 1992 in Grand Rapids, Michigan with the majority of his practice in aesthetic and reconstructive breast surgery and body contouring. Dr. Hammond is a member of ASPS, ASAPS and AAPS. Dr. Hammond lectures extensively within the United States and internationally. In 2009, Dr. Hammond published his single authored text “Atlas of Aesthetic Breast Surgery”.

Nolan Karp

Dr. Nolan Karp graduated from Northwestern University School of Medicine and completed his general surgery and plastic surgery training at NYU School of Medicine. He followed this with a microsurgery fellowship training at NYU and joined the Faculty in 1992.   Dr. Karp has expertise in all areas of plastic surgery. He has interest in aesthetic and reconstructive surgery of the face, breast, and body. He has developed and popularized short-scar breast reduction techniques. He is the principal investigator at NYU for the silicone breast implant adjunct study. He has an interest in both flap and implant breast reconstruction. Dr. Karp’s current research interests include 3D imaging to improve the quality of breast reduction, reconstruction and augmentation. Dr. Karp is also involved in studies to improve breast reconstruction with fat injections. His has recently written book chapters on male breast reduction, breast augmentation and mastopexy.


Roger Khouri

Roger Khouri, MD is a pioneer in modern fat transplantation. He trained in General Surgery at UNC, in Plastic Surgery at Brown University, in Reconstructive Microsurgery at NYU and in Hand Surgery at Harvard. Dr. Khouri was Professor of Plastic Surgery at Washington University before moving to Miami. Doctor Khouri is the founder of the Miami Breast Center. He is a Plastic Surgeon with more than 25 years of experience with breast reconstruction. He is also the inventor of the external expander - BRAVA. Dr. Khouri developed the breakthrough third option breast reconstruction procedure called BRAVA + AFT (autologous fat transfer). He is the innovator and the recognized world expert in natural, no implant, breast augmentation and post-mastectomy, lumpectomy and prophylactic breast reconstruction. He is extensively published in the literature on breast reconstructive microsurgery and in fat transplantation to the breast, and has most recently written a textbook on the latter subject.
Kamran Koobehi
Dr. Kamran Khoobehi is a plastic surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He is a clinical Professor of Surgery at the Louisiana State University, New Orleans. Dr Khoobehi completed general surgery and plastic surgery at L.S.U New Orleans . He is private practice but continues to be involved with the resident training at L.S U. where he is the Director of the aesthetic training at L.S.U . Dr.Khoobehi is an active member in the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons, and the Louisiana Regional Society of Plastic Surgery. Dr.Khoobehi has founded the Fat Grafting Forum meeting that focuses of the science of the fat grafting; the fourth international meeting will be in Las Vegas Feb. 2013
Jason Pozner

Jason Pozner, M.D., F.A.C.S  is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, and is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, as well as the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and the American Society for Lasers in Medicine and Surgery.    Dr. Pozner graduated from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York with a Distinction in Research. He trained for five years in general surgery residency at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York. He completed a Microsurgery Fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center in New York and his Plastic Surgery residency at New York's Downstate Medical Center. He completed an additional fellowship in aesthetic and endoscopic plastic surgery in Maryland where he was an assistant professor of Plastic Surgery at Johns Hopkins Medical Center. He is currently adjunct clinical faculty at Cleveland Clinic Florida Department of Plastic Surgery.  The founder Sanctuary Medical Aesthetic Center, an  11,000 square foot facility in Boca Raton, Florida, Dr. Pozner is an authority on both surgical and non-invasive plastic surgery techniques.  Dr. Pozner  lectures both nationally and internationally and conducts workshops on topics such as non-invasive laser therapy and revision breast surgery using acellular dermal matrix.


Rod Rohrich

Rod J. Rohrich, M.D., FACS, is Professor and Chair of the Department of Plastic Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He is holder of the Crystal Charity Ball Distinguished Chair in Plastic Surgery, holder of the Betty and Warren Woodward Chair in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and recipient of the Rod J. Rohrich, M.D. Distinguished Professorship in Wound Healing and Plastic Surgery. After general surgery and plastic surgery residencies at the University of Michigan, he trained in pediatric plastic surgery at Oxford University in England. Dr. Rohrich also completed a hand and microvascular fellowship at MGH/Harvard Medical School. He received his medical degree from Baylor University College of Medicine, graduating with high honors. He completed his undergraduate and post-graduate education with high honors at North Dakota State University and the University of North Dakota.  Dr. Rohrich is a member of the American Association of Plastic Surgeons, the Plastic Surgery Research Council, ASPS, ASAPS, and ASMS.   He is a Past Director of the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS), and has also served as President of the ASPS, and is past-member of the Board of Directors of the ASPS, the Plastic Surgery Educational Foundation (PSEF), the ASAPS, and the Aesthetic Society Education and Research Foundation (ASERF).  He has been active in organized medicine for more than two decades. He has been a visiting professor to over 150 national and international societies and has delivered more than 1,500 scientific presentations on all aspects of plastic surgery. Dr. Rohrich has been the recipient of numerous prestigious national research, teaching, and distinguished service awards during his academic career in plastic surgery.   He is editor-in-chief of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and an editor for Selected Readings in Plastic Surgery. He has published more than 500 peer review articles and 30 chapters in plastic surgery, ranging from cosmetic surgery to craniofacial surgery. He has published five textbooks in plastic surgery ranging from rhinoplasty, craniomaxillofacial trauma, secondary rhinoplasty, and ultrasound-assisted liposuction. He has been included as one of the Best Doctors in Dallas since 2000, Super Doctors in Texas since 2005, Best Doctors in America since 1996, Who’s Who in America since 1993, Best Doctors in America by Good Housekeeping Magazine, and named a Notable North Dakotan in 1998.


Peter Rubin

J. Peter Rubin, MD, FACS, is Chair of the Department of Plastic Surgery, UPMC Endowed Professor of Plastic Surgery, and Professor of Bioengineering at the University of Pittsburgh. He is an internationally recognized expert in the science of adipose stem cells and fat grafting. He serves as co-director of the Adipose Stem Cell Center, and is founder of the Center for Innovation in Restorative Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh. He is principal investigator in an NIH funded line of research aimed at developing cell based methods for clinical soft tissue reconstruction after cancer therapy, and directs a related line of research aimed at soft tissue reconstruction for injured soldiers as an investigator for the Department of Defense Armed Forces Institute for Regenerative Medicine. His scientific leadership positions include past president of the International Society of Adipose Therapeutics and Science (IFATS), Board Chair of IFATS, and past Chairman of the Plastic Surgery Research Council. He is the recipient of a Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers (PECASE). The Presidential Award is the highest honor bestowed by the United States government on outstanding scientists and engineers early in their research careers.

Norman Schulman, MD

Dr. Norman Schulman is Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery, The American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.  He is a graduate of Tufts University and remained in Boston and graduated from Tufts Medical School.  He completed his internship and his General Surgery residency at Bronx Municipal Hospital Medical Center and served as an aircraft carrier surgeon in the United States Navy.  He completed his Plastic Surgery residency at New York’s Lenox Hill Hospital, where he is currently the Director of the Division of Plastic Surgery, Lenox Hill, Manhattan Eye and Ear, and New York Eye and Ear.  He is well published in the literature on techniques in both reconstructive and cosmetic surgery.


Constantin Stan

Constantin Stan M.D. was born in Romania and graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Lasi, Romania in 1982. Dr. Stan was trained in Head and Neck Surgery at UMF Bucharest and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Emergency Hospital “Floreasca” Bucharest. He is board certified in Head and Neck and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He is a member of the Romanian Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the French Society of Aesthetic Surgery, the Romanian Society of Head and Neck Surgery and Facial Plastic Surgery, ISAPS and IPRAS.    Dr. Stan has been an invited speaker at many international congresses and workshops, he has presented on a number of aesthetic surgery topics including breast augmentation.  He has published numerous papers and chapters as well as presented multiple plastic surgery lectures on an international level. Dr. Stan has received awards for his contributions to the improvement of aesthetic surgery from the Japanese Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (Yokohama 2005) the South American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery (Buenos Aires, 2003) , and from  IMACAS and ISAPS.

Dr. Stan owns and operates several private clinics in Romania and has extensive experience with anatomic breast implants for augmentation. He has developed new techniques for use in clinical breast implant surgery (multi-plane pocket dissection) and uses a combination of fat transfer and breast implants for aesthetic breast reconstruction.

W. Grant Stevens, MD

Dr. Grant Stevens serves as the medical director of Marina Plastic Surgery in Marina del Rey, CA and is a Clinical Professor of Surgery and the Director of the University of Southern California Aesthetic Surgery Fellowship and the Aesthetic Surgery Division.  He is a Board Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Plastic Surgery and a Fellow of The American College of Surgeons.  Dr. Stevens is on the editorial board of The Aesthetic Surgery Journal and on the board of directors of the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and ISAPS. He has been elected by his peers into the "The Guide to Top Doctors" and Castle Connolly's "Top Doctor Guide" recognizing him as one of the best plastic surgeons in America and one of the select few to be featured in “Plastic Surgery: The World’s Top Surgeons & Clinics.”  Dr. Stevens has authored more than 50 articles and book chapters and is an ASAPS Traveling Professor.  He lectures throughout the world on numerous topics in aesthetic plastic surgery including Mastopexy Augmentation, Non-Surgical Facial Rejuvenation, Mommy Makeovers, Gummy Bear Breast Implants, Non-Surgical Body Contouring, Safe and Efficient Combined Aesthetic Surgery,  Laser Assisted Breast Reduction, Surgical Facial Rejuvenation, Cellulite Treatment, Internet Marketing, Practice Management and Growth.  He has performed surgery on patients from all 50 United States and 63 foreign countries.  He is past chairman of the California Medical Association Advisory Panel on Plastic Surgery.  He has received the Special Congressional Certificate of Recognition and the Distinguished Service Citation from the Medical Board of California. 

Simeon Wall, Jr.

Simeon Wall Jr, MD, is an aesthetic plastic surgeon in Shreveport, LA.  He is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, and received his medical degree from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.  Dr. Wall Jr completed his combined General Surgery and Plastic Surgery residency at Stanford University Medical Center.   Dr. Wall Jr’s practice is focused on primary and revisionary breast enhancement & body contouring.  Dr. Wall Jr is credited with the development and refinement of SAFELipo®, which is a non-thermal, multi-step, comprehensive body contouring process incorporating liposuction, fat redistribution (fat shifting), and fat grafting.   Dr. Wall Jr, currently serves as a Traveling Professor for The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), co-chair of the Teaching Course Committee for The American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), and the President of the Louisiana Society of Plastic Surgeons.  He serves as Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Surgery at LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, has published multiple manuscripts and book chapters, and presented over one hundred regional, national, and international lectures & courses.
